For the third year in a row, BPX Energy will serve as a corporate partner for the Houston Energy for Life Walkathon on April 25. This important partnership began through the efforts of Craig and Nancy Ferguson of Katy, TX. Their daughter, Bailey, battles mitochondrial disease. Bailey’s brother, Cale, will serve as co-chair of this year’s walk.
Bailey was diagnosed in 1995. “Bailey is a beautiful, active, hard-working 31 year old”, said her mom, Nancy. “She always has a positive attitude and has never let this disease define her”. Their team, Riff Raff/Bailey’s Buds, has been part of this walk since it started many years ago. “We continue to walk to raise awareness and money in hopes of finding a cure one day,” Nancy said.
It was in 2006 when the family relocated to the Houston area. Craig went to work for BP America in the Land Department and (BP)BPX has always supported local organizations.
The Fergusons encourage participation from patient families and businesses in the greater Houston area for the event, which takes place at Sugar Land Memorial Park in Sugarland,
