Medicaid Survey

As you are most likely aware, the new administration and Congressional leaders are suggesting major changes to Medicaid to reduce overall federal spending. As part of our commitment to representing the needs of the mitochondrial disease community on Capitol Hill, we’re asking for your feedback so we can share how potential changes would impact your family.

Some of the options being floated include:

  • Per-Capita Caps: Limits federal funding per Medicaid beneficiary, potentially reducing state funding if costs rise.
  • Lowering/Eliminating FMAP Floor: Cuts federal contributions to states with higher poverty rates, impacting coverage.
  • Repealing Recent Medicaid Rules: Rolls back Medicaid expansion and eligibility rules.
  • Work Requirements: Requires able-bodied adults to work or train for jobs to qualify for Medicaid, risking coverage loss.
  • Other Medicaid Financing Changes: Proposes changes like block grants, giving states more flexibility but potentially reducing funds.
