It’s been 10 years since walkers gathered to join in the UMDF’s first Energy for Life Walk in Minnesota. From the very beginning, there has been one constant corporate sponsor – Extended Ag Services. Extended Ag Services is a family owned business based in a small, rural community of Lakefield, MN. Owned by the Jim Nesseth family, their generosity makes as much of an impact as a corporate partner based in a major city.
Their involvement began when Andrew Nesseth and Lindsay Chapman-Nesseth lost their son, Leo, to mitochondrial disease in 2010. The Nesseth family and Extended Ag Services not only participated by forming a walk team, but they agreed to become financial supporters of the Minnesota EFL walk. Three years later, Extended Ag Services became an official corporate partner, a role they have had for the past seven years. To date, the Nesseth family and Extended Ag Services have fundraised and donated more than $20,000.
This year is the 10th angelversary of sweet Leo and the 10th Energy for Life Walkathon in Minnesota. The walk will be held August 17th at the Normandale Lake Bandshell.
Extended Ag and the family have not wavered in their support of the Minnesota EFL. Their commitment, and the generosity of many smaller, family-owned businesses across the country, has been constant and a significant impact on many UMDF events.
